Big bang theories
My son had a tyre blowout two weeks ago in his 5-year-old SAAB, causing him to swerve into the barrier of a dual carriageway. His tyres had been checked just ten days before by a local tyre company and they said he had at least another 2,000 miles of tread. It was established by witnesses that he was not speeding. He swung his car around to avoid a car that was approaching with children in the back. The result: his car has been written off. But the driver’s air bag did not inflate. The Emergency Services came to the accident, and my son was taken to hospital. He was later discharged with back, knee and neck injuries. Should he pursue this with SAAB. I would appreciate your advice please.

That can happen. Airbags work by shock triggers, and if the shock is not sufficiently great then they won’t go off. If the triggers were more sensitive, the bags would be going off on potholes and road humps.
