Cruise shall decision
Whenever I fear I might risk creeping above the speed limit, especially on the M25 (when it’s moving), I activate cruise control and my worries are removed. It's a wonderful invention and I'm sure I would have lost my license by now without it.

But unless it is active cruise control it also might kill you. And it has the highly undesirable effect of inducing many cars to travel at approximately but not exactly the same speed (due to variations) and that causes all sorts of problems, such as bunching, sudden braking and ‘Mexican waves’ that can force traffic as much as a mile behind to have to brake heavily or even crash.
