What do you think of dual dash cams?

Can I have your opinion on dual dash cams, i.e. a camera with front and back lenses versus two separate cameras?

I don't rate front and back camera as one unit at all. I think it's much better (higher quality lenses, better footage recorded etc) to get a separate front and back unit that records onto one SD card. You don't mention your budget, but Nextbase's range has accessories you can buy as add-ons - including a rear camera. The cheapest (and best) way to do this would be to buy the Nextbase 322GW camera and then the Rear Window module too. You can see how we did it in this review (we used the 422GW but it's pricier than the 322GW): kit.honestjohn.co.uk/reviews/review-nextbase-422gw

I have a new car and want a dash cam with parking mode. Is it possible to have one that doesn't need hard wiring? I'd prefer it to run on aux socket, but would it stop working when I turn off the ignition?
