Aut so simple

I have an 04 Ford Focus Estate automatic and for the last 6 months of last year the red warning light kept coming on and it would sometimes alternate with the yellow ABS light. I had the car fully serviced by the Ford garage where I bought it and they said could find nothing wrong with either the brakes or hand brake. They said they had put it on a diagnostic machine and could find nothing. The light is still going on and off, alternating with a yellow light briefly. I am concerned as I may have a problem with the car and I worry that it may go wrong causing an accident. Could I ask you for your opinion please. The car seems well otherwise.

Faulty brake light switch, faulty brake light bulb, or merely moisture in
the rear brake light cluster causing a problem that feeds back to the
brake light switch and thence to the ECU, telling it that the brakes are on so it then cuts engine power.
