Wife and aughter
We are thinking of changing our Honda Jazz. The new model may be better in many respects but it just seems to lack that little something. We would like a stylish, well-built, small on the outside, large on the inside, automatic (diesel or petrol) with a boot large enough for a medium sized dog. Does the Hyundai i20 match up, or there other Jazz sized models that we should consider.

The Hyundai i20 is an excellent little car. The 1.2 petrol model has a state of the art new engine and does more than 50mpg. I can’t yet tell you about the 1.4 auto, which has an entirely different, unrelated engine. You might also consider the new Honda Insight. Test and video test at www.honestjohn.co.uk The new Jazz is much better looking than the old Jazz. But it really needs the 1.5 120PS engine and 5-speed torque converter auto it gets in other parts of the world. This might be considered for production later in the year in the UK, but may not happen because the price would have to close to that of the Insight.
