I have a Golf Mk IV. A warning light telling me that my luggage boot is not closed. Can you advise me on how to rectify this please?

This will probably work from the boot light switch that is a plunger (look for it on the hatchback shut facing). It may be faulty because moisture has got into it (and may drain your battery when the car is left). Fiddle about with it, dry it out with a hairdryer, try pushing and twisting the plunger to switch it off altogether.
