When does a cambelt need changed?

We've done nearly 27,000 miles and our garage says we need to change the cambelt of our 2015 model (£494). Is it necessary to change it now? Other sources are saying it doesn't need changing until between 40,000 and 80,000 miles.

Belt, water pump and tensioner needs to be changed every 5 years or 50,000 miles, in my opinion. If any of those components break, it'll destroy the engine.
