Mycrar

I have driven a Nissan Micra 1.3 auto from new for nearly 13 years, with very little going wrong. I had the gearbox sorted by King Automatics of Epsom (recommended by HJ) a year ago, needed because of my mainly short journeys with a once weekly burst of 20 miles up the A3 to blow the cobwebs away. For the same reasons I've changed the oil every 6 months and kept the gearbox oil up to scratch too. Needless to say, my old faithful is not worth much now so I'm giving it to my daughter. Could you recommend a replacement to consider? I have a budget of around £7,000, would like a sturdy (not cheap and tinny) 5 door auto and am not fussy whether it's petrol or diesel, but I'd like it to be as economical on fuel and road tax as an auto can be, air conditioning would be nice as would the usual electric windows and central locking. And finally, hopefully as reliable and cheap to maintain as my Micra.

Another Micra, now with an ‘Alliance’ 4-speed torque converter auto that has proved to be more reliable than the old Renault boxes, maybe a Nissan Note 1.6 auto, maybe a Modus 1.6 auto with the same box but a Renault engine, maybe a Fiesta or Fusion 1.6
auto, maybe an old model Yaris 1.3 4-speed auto, maybe a Perodua MYVI 1.3 4-speed auto.
