With regard to J.K. and P.C. Their problem is the expression ‘right of way’. There is no place in motoring for right of way. The term is ‘priority’. Priority can only be given, not taken, as your correspondents appear to think should be the case. If one is not 100% sure that they can proceed then they should give way and smile in response to the acknowledgment of their good deed and try to foster good road manners in this way.
