I currently own an Alfa Romeo Brera SV JTS V6 Q4. The tax will have to be renewed in May 09. Can you tell me what it will be and when the new tax rate comes into force?

The new rates come into force in April 2009, but have been changed in the November budget. Your car emits 270g/km and the tax for it will be £405 for 2009/10 and £435 for 2010/11. Anyone else wanting to know how much they will have to pay should read the CO2 emissions on the car's V5 registration document. Then read what tax rate that corresponds to in the first FAQ answer at www.honestjohn.co.uk .
