Ex-tractor

Could you please make a comment on why my 1999 Mercedes 250 Turbo Diesel Estate engine has become extremely noisy since a faulty glow plug has been replaced? I have owned this car from new and it has only 65,000 genuine miles done and it is a very clean nice car and before this, it was a bit noisy on cold start but now it sound like a tractor engine. It has been well looked after and regularly serviced and runs extremely well as I am the only driver and an old age pensioner now, I wish to keep on running the car if possible. Your comments would be gratefully appreciated.

Possible damage to the bore in which the glowplug was replaced because a bit of it broke off and dropped into the combustion chamber. Glowplugs are very difficult to safely and cleanly extract from this engine.
