Ku goo kachoo

I have a Kuga 2.0 Titanium diesel and it’d brand new. However my pride and joy has been in the garage for the last month because of engine malfunction. The AA believe it is particulate fuel filter issues, that will continue to return as I only use the car to do short journeys of around 5 miles maximum. The dealer is fairly unhelpful at this stage. What do you reckon?

Do more miles or sell the car. Though it has the Peugeot ‘FAP’ system that uses an additive, your type of use will still choke it. The Diesel Particulate Filter is designed to collect particulates on start up, then burn them off safely later in the car's journey. It won't do this if there is no 'later'. If you explained to the dealer that you would only be using the car for runs of less than 5 miles then the car was mis-sold to you.
