The right Hon
With reference to the email from FM printed on May 29th I have a love hate relationship with the Honda Jazz. The 08 Jazz I loved.
The 010 I absolutely hate. 1: The transmissions are dangerous in 1st and 2nd gear because of the pull back. 2: The gear lever is touch sensitive. 3: The gear indicator is often hidden by the steering wheel. 4: The storage box is out of reach of the driver. I suggest Honda should recall this model and replace the gearbox before the good name of Honda is irreparably damaged by the I-Shift Jazz.

Ironically, Honda builds RHD Jazz with 5-speed torque converter automatic boxes at its Swindon plant for South Africa but, despite my suggestion, refused to Type Approve them for the UK market for Corporate Average Fuel and Emissions reasons. The more pressure from e-mails like yours, the greater the likelihood of capitulation, as was the case with the Civic, which is now available with the 5-speed torque converter auto as well as the I-Shift. (There is a rumour this is about to happen.) December 2008 test of the New City (4-door Jazz saloon) fitted with the 5-speed torque converter automatic here: www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/road-tests/honda/honda-n...t . As far as I know, no other UK tester has tested this.

Neatly styled. Increased room and better performance than original Jazz. better to drive. Very versatile. CVT-7 returned in February 2011 replacing i-SHIFT. More reliable than first generation Jazz.
