….and son
My son is soon to go into business for himself and will need a vehicle with room for carrying samples, but one that can be used for the family at weekends. It also needs to be reasonably economic. He saw your recent recommendation regarding the Ford S-Max and is leaning towards that. He has approx £8k to spend. What would you suggest?

I don't think he'll get a half decent S-Max for £8k. Worth checking out a KIA Carens diesel instead. They are quite good looking and spacious, but don’t seem to be well enough known for people to seek them out and consequently sell for very sensible money.
