SORN again
Having persuaded my 93 yr old father to give up driving, his 14 yr old car has been parked up in the garage for 10 months (still seems to run well and in good nick) but is not insured, MoT'd or taxed (SORN). He now agrees to give it away to an acquaintance but the first job is to get it MoT'd. The local garage says it can lawfully drive the car to the garage for this purpose but I think it should be transported there otherwise my father, as owner, could still be liable if something happened on the way?

It can legally be driven to a pre-appointed MoT within a reasonable
distance without tax, but it has to be insured. That can be done via
www.tempcover.com or www.DayInsure.com Alternatively the MoT station can collect and drive it to the test on an insured trade registration (‘Trade Plates’).
