Why do so many modern cars have a hard ride? I have, over fifty years, owned, driven and enjoyed Citroen's torsion bar and hydraulic suspension cars. When my 130,000-mile 2CV needed too much work I replaced it with a C1 Vibe. Inexpensive, economical, cheap to insure, well made - but the ride and road noise is atrocious. Is there anything that can be done to reduce road noise and make the suspension more supple? My wife's Picasso is much more Citroen-like with comfortable sets and pleasant ride.
