Humper cars
Can you point me in the right direction, as to how I can stop the renewal of "straddle" road humps which I am subjected to when I leave my house when I turn either right or left, or is it possible you can give me some idea what form a letter I can send to the engineer, pointing out their liability, or any other way round it? The highways authority has posted signs warning the works are to commence very soon. Most weeks in your letters some reference is made regarding the potential hazards of this type of hump, unfortunately I've not kept any of the press cuttings, although I take heed of your advice of going over with the wheels on one side and then alternating with the other.

Either use the grounds that speed humps send tremors through the ground that destroy walls. Or go round your area taking photos of all the unrepaired potholes and report them all using the excellent www.fixmustreet.co.uk They will then be forwarded to the council and the fact they were reported will be logged so the council will be forced to put its contractors onto filling pot holes rather than building speed humps or face big compensation claims from anyone whose car is damaged by the potholes. See attached photo of a self-destructing speed cushion with a pothole in it.
