Webuyanycar dot con?
Not sure if you know much about www.webuyanycar.com , but I thought I'd pass on my experiences. My girlfriend got a quote from them for her old Punto. Slightly less than market value but we went anyway because we're not born negotiators and couldn't really be bothered wasting time on the used car websites, when we'd probably get haggled down anyway. When we got there they questioned all sorts of minor points and then offered far less than the amount they'd quoted, even though my girlfriend was incredibly honest, and rated things as average when they were actually in great condition when generating the quote. One of the things they brought up was "the car's had 2 owners before you" when in reality it had only had 1 owner before her. We questioned this and eventually the man claimed "he'd read it wrong on the screen" - which seems hard to believe you'd read a 2 when it says 1. The whole process was like this. They offered a silly price, we walked away and they eventually brought the price up a couple of time and we ended up selling. When sadly handing over the keys we asked what they do with the cars, and he replied "I get asked that all the time and I honestly don't know, I just buy them.” Seems pretty hard to believe. That said, if you just want a simple life and to get rid of a car, they will buy it.

If the car is worth more than £1,000, then generally better to use www.sure-sell.info , where the car will be competitively bid for by both trade and public, will fetch market value on the day and can sometimes fetch a very high price if two or more buyers really want it. Commission comes off, but you get paid in 3 days, and get no hassle like the hassle you experienced.
