FAP happy?

I would be grateful for your advice on the following matter. I have noted that on occasion you have highlighted the problems and associated remedial costs caused by failure of diesel particulate filters. I am considering a Volvo diesel C30 with 1.6 DRIVe start stop. Is this issue known to be a potential problem with this diesel engine and if so what can or should be done to reduce any risk of failure.

The problem has not come up yet. But this car will have a DPF preheater and uses the Peugeot fluid based FAP system to regenerate. The special fluid normally lasts about 100,000 miles, though obviously less if the car does a lot of short runs from cold.
