Hottest hatch?

I'm looking to offload my trusty 8-year-old SEAT Leon Cupra and am fortune enough to be trying to decide between one of the RenaultSport Megane 250 or the VW Golf GTI, and I'd really appreciate your views as to which to go for.

The Megane 250. Like a shot. The viceless handling and complete lack of torque steer put it into a completely different class from the Golf. (That also happens to be what Mark Webber thinks.) Test and video at: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road_tests/index.htm?id=414 The cars are virtually hand assembled at Dieppe. They aren't run of the
mill production from Palencia. If you’re planning any track days, go for the Cup chassis. But for everyday the standard car is easier to live with.
