I have had intermittent problems with my power steering on a Vauxhall Meriva 1.6 06 plate. Garage has quote £700+ for new steering column assembly. Has there been any feedback from Vauxhall on this fault? Is any form of compensation available?

Extremely common fault on which VOSA will not act and order a recall. Push Vauxhall a bit and you should get a bigger contribution.
