Thirst among equals
I purchased a new Golf 1.4TSI DSG [7-Spd] on 2-9-2009. It is used for long and short trips and I use Superunleaded if available. It does not live up to its claimed mpg. The brochure shows urban 37.7 extra urban 54.3 combined 47.1 MPG. My car is averaging 37mpg. I have been back to the dealer who has tested it and can find nothing wrong. Any suggestions please?

Maybe it's your driving pattern. Every two mile short run from cold uses as much fuel as 10 miles fully warmed up on the motorway.

Comfortable and quiet on the move, enjoyable to drive. Nicely trimmed with great attention to detail. 1.4 TSI sweeter to drive than a diesel.
