Undercover operation
If you are insured with Norwich Union/Aviva and have recently renewed your car insurance, have you read your Certificate of Insurance carefully? A few years ago, third party cover for comprehensive policyholders on a 'motor cycle not belonging to them' was removed. Now third party cover on a 'car not belonging to them' has also been removed. So beware. You appear to be uninsured if you drive anyone else's car (in cases of illness etc), but cover is still there for cars loaned by garages (who should be insured anyway) whilst yours is in for repair.

This is a point I continually make to readers. The clause is being removed from most policies as part of the move to ensure that all roadworthy vehicles not 'in the trade' are continuously insured.
