Cinq, or swim?

I test-drove a FIAT 500 Lounge at Parkside Garage, Twickenham. There's no doubt, it has bags of style and character at a very, very attractive price (though they tell me now that If I placed an order today, I'll have to wait four months for delivery). My 10 year old Omega has blown up. The starter-motor has deposited lumps of metal into the gearbox and I know it's a case of diminishing returns, so I need a new car. Please may I ask if your 500 is still running well and are you still happy with it? I was leaning towards the new Fiesta on driveability but that comes with a big price premium. The main Ford and Vauxhall dealers damn FIAT to hell and back but I'm inclined to think this is "sour grapes" in that they are losing so many sales to Fiat on price, fun and character.
