Maz transport

I was hoping you could help me. I am looking to buy a new to 1-year old small car for myself and my partner after my Punto Active was hit, and will most likely be a write-off. I am looking at either a 1.0 or 1.2 new shape Vauxhall Corsa, a 1.2 Grande Punto or a 1.3 Mazda 2 and would like your honest opinion on which is the better car? We only really use it for driving short distances to work, but obviously safety features are important to me, as the accident had made me think about stuff like that more. Any help or opinion would be appreciated,

The Mazda 2 1.3, preferably the 1.3 TS2, by quite a long way. It's a delightful little car to drive, with a reasonably long top gear ratio so cruises well on the motorway too. The Corsa and Grande Punto are twins underneath, but with different topsides, engines and trim.
