Exhaust fumes smell

I have a 2005 Vectra C with a few problems. Firstly I have exhaust fumes through the air vents and also in the engine bay plus it is a slow cold starter and occassionly I get an engine management light come on and I lose power when accererating. But if I turn engine off then back on, it sometimes goes away for a while.

Well if you have exhaust fumes coming through, then you must have an exhaust leak, either from the manifold or from the down pipe connection. Can you not hear the exhaust blowing? Either way, you need to rectify this asap as it's very dangerous.

As for the ECU light coming on, i'd suggest that you get the engine to undergo a diagnostic check, which should then give you a fault code, so you can identify the problem.

Far better than previous Vectra. Now with decent handling and an excellent ride. Plenty of safety kit. Roomy in the front. Big boot. Good looks.
