In very slow traffic in the sun, I nudged a 2011 Land Rover Discovery in front of me. My Zafira front bumper got a bit of a dent and a cracked badge, the Discovery had a cracked red reflector strip on the left-hand side, under the number plate.
I swapped numbers and heard from her a few days later that a local Land Rover dealer has quoted her £30 for the new part but £290 for an hour-and-a-half labour as they ‘need to take bumper off to get to the clips for the reflector’

Is this even remotely a fair charge for this work? If it was around £100 I would just pay myself and not involve insurers, but this sounds very steep to me and inflated as they know it will be an insurance job. I’m happy to be corrected as I don’t know much about cars.
