How can I ensure my damaged car is repaired correctly by the insurers?
I had a minor bang into another car doing a speed of no more than 15mph, my car took the brunt of the damage and is being collected by the insurance company tomorrow. How will I know if the insurance company have done the correct process about fixing my car as it needs a bumper and bonnet? Also if they say they can't fix the car and offer me a sum of money and I am not happy with that sum am I entitled to disagree with what they offer and ask for more?

If your car is being repaired, you can choose where it is being repaired. If you are using the insurers approved repairer, it should be a BS10125 repairer, as such it should give some assurances to the quality of repair. Alternatively, it may not be BS10125 approved but hold manufacturers approvals. If the car is a total loss, request a copy of the engineer's report or a full Audatex assessment, and ask the insurer to provide copies of Glass Guide, CAP motor research to substantiate how they have obtained their valuation. You always have the right to dispute the valuation.
