Xsara Picasso Turbo charger

Got a nice 160mile trip back home in a recovery truck after what the guy suggested is a faulty turbo on my Xsara Picasso HDI (110 I think) - loads of blue smoke from exhaust and no oil left thereby. Thing is, I don't really want to buy a new one (£600 or so) and I've seen a couple which could poss do the job. One is listed as suitable for ." ENGINE CODE - DW10TD/RHY,ENGINE - 2.0 HDi TURBO TYPE - GT1546S. How can I tell if this is suitable - ie where does the engine code appear under the bonnet and what turbo type will my motor be?

Blue smoke from the engine normally indicates that the engine is burning oil. Therefore rather than just changing the turbo, would suggest that you check the following: 1.Worn cylinders/piston rings; 2.Faulty valves/ valve stem seals; 3 Faulty injector pump/lift pump allowing engine oil to be mixed with the diesel; 4 Low engine compression. A compression check will show items 1 and 4, if you have used a lot of oil in a short time then it may well be the valve stem seals.
