Are the EGR problems with our Skoda a consequence of the emissions fix?
I have a Skoda Yeti 2.0 TDI. It has experienced various problems since having the emission recall fix in Nov 2017. It is constantly running rough and smelling of exhaust fumes. An independent garage diagnosed a heater plug failure and EGR cooler leak into the exhaust pipe. They recommended contacting the Skoda dealership to see if this is covered by warranty. Skoda indicated that because my Yeti has an EGR cooler not an EGR cooler valve it won't be covered by the warranty, but the EGR flaps will. Neither will the heater plugs. This will obviously be a very sizeable bill. Do you think there is a connection between all this and having the recall fix done?

The problem with the EGR is definitely "consequential" of the NOx emissions fix because of the additional work it imposes on the injectors and the EGR valve, so that has to be be covered. The glowplugs are nothing to do with the fix, though, so failure of them will be down to you and you need to tread very carefully because it's all to easy to snap one off while trying to remove it from the head.
