Can I take my warranty company to the small claims court?

I have a claim on an extended warranty for a broken-down ECU, sensor and wiring harness which had to be replaced. The cause on the invoice was "Thermister failed, causing coolant to travel up wiring into engine ECU". The total cost was £1184.04. This claim was rejected by my warranty company, but after many letters, fourteen phone calls and four months, a letter arrived offering £771.45 stating the remainder of labour and parts where not covered.

I reluctantly accepted the offer, but to date (a further six weeks) no cheque has been forthcoming and the company is not responding to my letters. Can I take this company to the small claims court?
