Mitsubishi Shogun Challenger - how can I fix rust?

I have a 1998 Mitsubishi Shogun Challenger V6. On the recent MoT the advisory information states that the coil springs, ladder chassis, steering and suspension component mountings are corroded, but not considered excessive. Also vehicle structure corroded within 30cm of tow ar mounting.

Can it be treated and rectified or should we be looking to replace it before the next MoT?

That's impossible to answer without looking at the vehicle and prodding the corrosion. Very tedious work to scrape the corrosion off because you can't use a media blaster that might damage wiring, brake pipes, etc. Will need welding and reinforcing in the proximity of the towbar. Subsequently treat with rustproofing primer and stonechip paint. To do a proper job could cost thousands.
