What's the tax status of a trade-in car?
I deliver cars to customers and collect their trade in car. Is their trade-in taxed for me to drive home or do I have to use trade plates?

If you deliver the new car to them and take the trade-in away, strictly speaking you have to use Trade Plates. Whether the system would catch up with you in less than a day is another matter, but if you got stopped without Trade Plates you would need to have the V5C with the previous owner shown on it to be taxed. Presumably you have your own trade insurance?
