Advice about Credit hire companies

I am a volunteer with Citizens Advice and when researching for a client found this page of advice on the public Citizens Advice web site. https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/professional-and-financial-services/insurance/types-of-insurance/vehicle-insurance/vehicle-insurance-if-the-accident-wasn-t-your-fault/

I wondered if you felt that this was appropriate advice for the general public - it seems to advise that the best way of dealing with an accident is to use a credit hire company. I am contemplating raising this with CA but would be interested to know your expert opinion.

A few readers have been pleased with Accident Exchange, but I do not recommend accident management companies that put victims in credit hire cars. What insurers are increasingly doing in such cases is writing off the cars so the claim can be settled quickly without any need for credit hire. In other words they are including the potential cost of credit hire in the cost of the repair and as a result are writing cars off that have suffered very little damage.
