What should I replace my Mondeo with?

I do 25,000 miles a year, mostly business. My trusty Ford Mondeo is nearing the end of its life and I need a used replacement. I want comfort, reliability and economy. I am also a keen angler and need to be able to load smelly fishing tackle into the back of the car at weekends. My budget is £20,000. What should I get?

A Honda CR-V 2.2iDTEC will do 40 - 42mpg. A 320d could give you as much as 60mpg. BMW 2.0 litre diesels are definitely the most economical, but need 10,000 mile oilchanges. Also best to avoid 18 - 20-inch wheels. Stick to 16s or 17s.
