Which wheel size is best for the Qashqai?

I have a 2013 Nissan Qashqai 1.6 diesel with four-wheel drive on standard 18-inch wheels. The ride is very hard and you have on previous occasions recommended changing for 16 or 17-inch wheels.

However the standard tyres are 215/55/R18 and load rated 99V. Tyres for 17-inch wheels are only load rated 96V - which is a lower load rating. Tyres for 16-inch wheels would also have a lower load rating.

Could you advise if such tyres are acceptable for this vehicle. I would only wish to fit suitable good quality (summer)tyres and the choice seems very limited.

You would have to check and get the approval of your insurer, not me. But the power outputs of Qashqais with 16" and 17" wheels are the same, and the brakes are the same, so I don't see a problem.
