Ford focus EcoBoost engine failure

I have a 2012 Ford Focus with the EcoBoost engine. It's done 19,000 miles and recently broke down with a serious and spontaneous overheat. I was rescued by the AA who found the pipe from the turbo to the cooling system seriously split. As the car had so dramatically overheated the AA suspected the head gasket had blown. The car may need a new engine, although it is under warranty.

1) if the car has a new engine how does that affect resale value?
2) What are my rights re the warranty on a new engine?
3) I'm now disillusioned with my car which I previously loved - I've suggested the swap mine for a similar spec in part ex but the sales dept are reluctant to offer me anything until the car is fixed which could be a month at least.
4) do I have any other rights I should be aware of - this is clearly a known fault / I'm lucky it's still under warranty but surely others won't be so lucky - should they be recalling to replace the dodgy pipes?

If the car has has a new engine after 19k miles it increases the value of the car. The new engine is automatically warranted until the end of the warranty on the car which you say is December 2012. Forget about (3).
