Two serious faults within five months - Am I entitled to a replacement car?

I had a brand new Audi Q3 (2.0 TFSI, manual) delivered in January. Since then, it has had a new gearbox at 1000 miles due to a stiff gearstick and the discovery of swarf in the gearbox. And now last week the centre bush on the prop shaft has broken. Audi claim that this latest problem isn't due to the replacement of the gearbox.

With two major mechanical defects in a car which was done a little over 2000 miles in four months, I now have little confidence in this new car, and feel that I've got a dud. Do I have a reasonable claim for a new car under warranty on the basis that the car I was sold was not of merchantable quality?

I'd say the two problems were certainly related. Send a letter of your disquiet to the dealer principal of the dealership that sold you the car and sent it by post office special delivery so it becomes a matter of record in case further problems develop.
