Can I reject a car over minor faults?

I have just bought a 2007 Ford Focus. I travelled from the North East to York to pick up the car and I was told the car had no problems. Now that I have gotten the car home and looked at the MoT it states in the advisory notes that both offside tyres are near the tread limit and 'power steering ram has slight seepage from a component'.

I paid £2627 for this car and had to pay £100 tax upfront. I am furious that I was lied to and paid a lot for a car which might need fixing soon. Should the dealer have told me? Can I return the car or get money off for this?

The car was legal and has only minor problems. £2627 was a low price for any 2007 Focus. The dealer has some responsibility, but I don't think he is liable for these minor faults that did not make the car unroadworthy on the date of sale.
