Is Fiat due to release a new Panda model in the near future?

I am about to buy a new Fiat Panda but I read earlier in the year that the new model was to be launched later this year - is this correct and, if so, do you have any advice as to where I can obtain pictures and spec of what it looks like? I have a friend who lives in Florence so do you know if the new Panda has been released in Italy yet? Will the new model continue to be manufactured in Poland?

Fiat hasn't released any details of a new Panda yet. That said, the current one is coming to the end of its life (it has been on sale since early 2004) so we'd expect a new model within the next 12 months. It's possible that it will be shown at this year's Paris Motorshow, with sales in the UK starting next year. Until then there's no definable information. A Google search of "2010 Fiat Panda" will bring up some images of what it could look like, though these are only artists' impressions.
