Should I buy a warranty for my Mazda 3?

I have a 2009 Mazda 3 1.6 petrol (Mark II) which is coming up to three years old and thus the expiry of its warranty. I have been very happy with its reliability and would rather keep it for a few years longer (I cover about 9000 miles a year) but I'm unsure whether it is worth taking out a warranty with Warranty Direct, which I believe you recommend. Are there any potential areas of weakness attracting very high repair costs? If so, I would certainly take up one of Warranty Direct's schemes. I'd welcome your advice.

Mazda 3s consistently do very well in German JD Power Customer Satisfaction Surveys. But if you take out a warranty, make sure you fully understand what level of warranty you are getting for the money you are paying. Most complaints are from people who took out the lowest level and cheapest level of warranty, then expected the highest level of cover.
