How does the Honda CR-V compare to the Volkswagen Tiguan?

I know you have enthused about the latest BMW X3 but wonder how you would rate, or compare, the current Honda CR-V against the Volkswagen Tiguan diesel.

Production of the third generation CR-V ended in July and the fourth generation is now rolling off the production lines at Swindon. Both are more comfortable, softer riding, more luxurious SUVs than the Tiguan. Slightly bigger, too, and all engines are chain cam. Tiguan diesels remain belt cam and regular replacement of the belts costs £500 a time.
