Why are Volvo 940s considered to be 'unfashionable'?

I was tickled pink to learn that Volvo 940s are "deeply unfashionable", “but have a following.” My 940 2.3 Turbo Estate has served very well. I think this type of car was one of the last of the real Volvo cars. My local Volvo Specialist, Bridgend Volvo Specialists, (I recommend them) suggested that I stick with it as some of the modern cars have problems come MOT time. This motorcar suits my needs. Why then "unfashionable"? It's horses for courses really, isn't it?

Fashion has nothing whatsoever to do with common sense and never did. Read ‘Every Man in his Humor’, written by Ben Jonson in 1598.
