Does the Nissan Qashqai use a Renault engine?

I currently have a Nissan Primera P12 but am considering a change. The Nissan Qashqai looks interesting. Perhaps you could tell me if the 1.6 dCI engine is a Renault derivative and if it features chain cam. What is your opinion of the car?

The 1.6 dCI is not Renault-derived, it is pure Renault. But it is chain cam and it's the most advanced small diesel engine in the world, using F1 Renault technology that helps it to reach running temperature very quickly, which is important to keep the DPF and EGR clear. Renault currently makes the best F1 engines.
