Will the new Civic have DPF issues?

I'm looking to purchase new vehicle and was curious about the new Honda Civic 1.6 diesel - in the Honda dealership I was told that even though I only do a majority of short journeys and a maximum of 10,000 miles per annum, that this new diesel was OK and was being introduced to accommodate my type of motoring.

The particulate filter has been placed near to engine so will burn-off better than normal diesel and not create problems - do you think this is so?

Only time will tell. But it's an excellent drive. And Honda is offering a 1,000,000 kilometre warranty on it in Spain: www.honestjohn.co.uk/road-tests/honda/honda-civic-.../
