Do I need to pay these costs from an old incident?

Can you let me know what are considered to be fair storage rates for a vehicle that has been damaged in an accident? I have received a bill for an accident 3 years ago for £150 recovery costs (I drove the car to the garage myself so will be disputing that) and for 19 days storage at £22 a day. The garage carried out no work on my car (they quoted £1600, I got it done for £300) and my solicitors "forgot" to pay them this bill from my insurance payout and the garage is now threatening legal action!

Any advice on how to proceed? I'm happy to pay a fair amount but am extremely annoyed that they are clearly taking the proverbial because this was an insurance claim.

Be terrific if they take you to the Small Claims Court and claim for the recovery as well as the storage. As soon as you assert that there was no 'recovery' the judge will throw their case out and award you your costs.
