I bought a duff second hand car. Can I get a refund?

Eight weeks ago, I bought a secondhand car for £2500. After I drove away, I had various problems:

Broken reverse light
Brake light out
Front fog light not working
Air conditioning broken (needs new tubes)
Heated rear windscreen doesn't work
Roof leaked
Engine management light keeps coming on...

And the car stops for 40 minutes when I'm driving it - and it broke down on the motorway and I had to leave it over night. I have been back to the car sales room three times to have these things repaired, and now I have had to go back today and leave it so the can 'have a look at it' to find out why the engine management light is on and why it broke down.

I have had to pay for a hire car - he refused point blank to get me a car to cover for the loss of my own car. I don't want the car any more as it's unsafe and unreliable.
