Improving the ride on a CR-V

I have a 2011 Honda CR-V EX on 18 inch wheels the ride is not as good as I had hoped. Would 17 inch wheels improve the ride and what tyres would you recommend for mostly road use?

Yes. Pirelli Scorpion STRs or Michelin Latitude. But I had one on 18s and thought it not bad. It's 19s that really destroy the ride.
