Shall I buy a Dacia Duster petrol or diesel

Intending to buy a Dacia Duster. We have a long unmade drive and often feel the effects of winter. Currently run a diesel Multipla for a family of five which has been great but we fancy new with a warranty. I think basic two wheel drive petrol, but is the diesel/4wd worth the additional outlay.

We do 12,000 miles a year. The school run is 5.4 mile round trip and twice a week we do an eighty mile round trip the rest is sdp.

Basic £8,995 2WD petrol is VERY basic. No radio, for example. Obviously will need winter tyres to perform well in snow.
