Replacement for Vauxhall Zafira? Not necessarily an MPV

I need to replace my Vauxhall Zafira and am unsure what to replace it with. Only use the boot space for camping but am happy to tow a trailer instead so would need at least a 1.6. Just want to replace it with a cost effective model but unsure what. Had a i30 suggested to me but the larger engines all seem to be diesel and I do a lot of short runs (school and train station). What do you suggest?

Toyota Verso 1.8i Valvematic. Should be heavily discounted because a new Verso is on the way.
